DOBERMANN IV represents the evolution of the first and most classic Extrema Ratio K1 DOBERMANN model. Since 1997 the DOBERMANN model has undergone notable aesthetic and design changes based on the evolution of taste and trends, while maintaining a line consistent with the original designs. DOBERMANN IV makes flexibility of use and structural resistance its main characteristics. DOBERMANN IV S600, like the model from which it derives, is a multi-role gun that can be used for hunting, survival, camping and military use. The blade has a "drop point" shaped tip while the central part has a "recurved blade" profile. The grinding is carried out flush with the surface. This particular geometry of the blade allows the DOBERMANN IV both to make precise and clean cuts on materials such as cordage, wood and foliage and to find easy use in typical Bushcraft and Survival jobs such as batoning and chopping. Unlike the other DOBERMANN IVs this model uses Böhler S600 steel. This material is used in industrial production to make metalworking tools and in mold making. The high content of molybdenum, tungsten and a good presence of vanadium in its chemical composition give it excellent qualities of hardness, wear resistance and toughness. The presence of Cobalt favors the formation of small, uniformly distributed carbides, a characteristic that enhances and increases wear resistance. The blade of the DOBERMANN IV S600 is hardened and cryogenically treated, thus reaching an exceptional hardness of 64 HRC. This gives it great resistance to wear and the ability to guarantee the cutting edge of the wire for a long time. Böhler S600 has 4.5% chromium, making it an oxidizable steel. For this reason, the new Teflon-based coating “EXP DARK” proposed by Extrema Ratio was applied. DOBERMANN IV S600 is equipped with a green forprene handle. A tang protrudes from the handle, acting as a glass breaker, equipped with a slot that allows the knife to be fitted with a strap. DOBERMANN IV S600 is supplied with a cordura thigh sheath, also in green colour, is equipped with a MOLLE system attachment system and is adaptable to both left-handed and right-handed people.
The CORVO is a traditional Chilean Army combact knife. Its origins are misterious: it did probably arrive in the New World with the Spanish Conquistadores, who had already appreciated it during the war against the Moors. It shows undoubted affinities with Jambiya, the traditional Arab knife still used nowadays as a Yemen male clothing accessory. CORVO has been used during the War of the Pacific. It was produced in several versions such as: the Curved Corvo with the blade bending at almost 90° and the Corvo Atacameño which is longer but with a gentler bending of the blade for a higher flexibility during use. Extrema Ratio has been inspired by this second version.

ERMES is the commemorative knife developed in collaboration with the Helicopter Regiment for Special Operations (R.E.O.S.), which is part of the Italian Army's aviation command. The R.E.O.S. is the operational unit of special forces support helicopters composed of specifically trained personnel, particularly trained and equipped to support military activities in every operational context. The stylized guards of the knife represent the wings present in the heraldic coat of arms of the regiment. It is available in two versions: 'ERMES ORDINANZA' with the satin blade and the ABS case, and 'ERMES OPERATIONAL' with the burnished blade. The steel used is the reliable Bohler N690Co, heat-treated at 58 HRC. The glass fiber-reinforced polyamide FRN (Fiber Reinforced Nylon) polymer was chosen for the handle. The Extrema Ratio Misericordia was adopted by the 4th Alpine Parachute Regiment, which helped develop and test the product. This fixed blade tactical knife is extremely light and compact, and it can be used both as a main knife or as a backup blade. The blade, made of Böhler N690 steel and heat-treated to a hardness of 58 HRc, is 118 mm long, 4 mm thick, and has a flat edge. The spear point profile features a full-length fuller that makes the blade even lighter, and a ¾ length false edge. The blade is available in the classic MIL-C-13924 Extrema Ratio black finish. The glass fiber reinforced nylon (FRN) handle has the classic Extrema Ratio grooves that provide a secure grip and is fixed to the tang with a through screw. At the rear end, the handle flows into a large ring, which allows for the use of martial arts techniques and ensures a solid grip for the hand. It is also equipped with a hard metal "skull crusher" appendix. The knife's overall weight is just 87g. Designed for professional use, the knife emphasizes ease of carrying, accessibility, and extraction in case of need. The knife is secured to the scabbard by a quick-release safety, which can be easily reversed for left-handed use. Även fast många från det 183:e fallskärmsregementet skadades och gick förlorade så kan man nu se att deras insats gjorde dom till vinnare. This milestone among multipurpose knives, employed on a large scale in Afghanistan as standard issue equipment of the Italian “Nibbio” mission, originated with a COMALP Alpine Troops Command experimental project for renewing trooper equipment. As part of preparing for the mission, COMALP coordinated a team of companies toward creating a full experimental set of newly designed equipment for the individual trooper. Extrema Ratio was chosen by COMALP to develop a new multipurpose knife suitable for the infantry – a knife to be used in any operations anywhere, capable of successfully completing tasks that more specialized tools fail at. So successful were we that after this multipurpose knife followed the development of the Fulcrum Bayonet, an implementation of the same which can be mounted onto a trooper’s standard-issue rifle. An extremely tough and versatile knife, the Fulcrum’s blade can sustain loads of over 150 kilograms without breaking. The tanto-shaped blade allows for large amounts of work and wear while still retaining a sharp, penetrating edge at its exceedingly sturdy tip. Thanks to its weight and top-heavy balancing, the Fulcrum is also suitable for hard work on the field.

Born from the reinterpretation of the 39-09 model, the Nimbus was developed and chosen by the 183rd Parachute Regiment "Nembo" as a commemorative knife of the events of Case Grizzano which on April 19, 1945 saw the paratroopers of the Nembo engaged against the paratroopers of a German division . The clashes raged for 12 hours and were often resolved with hand-to-hand combat with white weapons. Within days of the end of World War II a third of the battalion's men remained in the field, but their sacrifice led to the winning of the battle. In addition to wanting to commemorate an important event of our Armed Forces, the knife is the result of a carefully developed development also in the technical aspects, in such a way as to make it suitable for a concrete operational use. Particular attention has been placed in the care of dimensions, shape and in the search for solutions such as the kydex sheath designed to make the knife a tool capable of adapting to the most complex carrying needs. The Leatherneck Bowie has a wide bowie styled blade made from German D2 steel, and is 267mm long. Like the others in the Leatherneck series, it has a non-reflective black finish. Med vår mer än trettio år långa erfarenhet av knivstål har vi valt att använda oss av ett laminerat koboltstål. Det är ett stål som har visat sig vara både starkt och hålla skärpan mycket bra. Ovanpå det lägger vi till en konvex egg som är både vass och stark, även det ett resultat av vår långa erfarenhet av knivar. För att få en tät och hygienisk fog mellan parerstång och blad svetsar vi fast parerstången med en specialelektrod och slipar sedan fram en snygg profil. Till detta adderar vi en oerhört vacker rödbrun micarta för att säkerställa ett skaft som håller lika länge som bladet. Att knivarna är helt och hållet tillverkade för hand är självklart – så här fint formade knivar kan ingen maskin tillverka! De som uppskattar handgjorda, högkvalitativa knivar i allmänhet kommer att finna att detta är en serie som är gjord för dem. Viktiga faktorer som specialstål, exklusivt materialval, en väl genomtänkt design och ett avancerat tillverkningssätt kommer att påminna användaren av dessa knivar om den kvalitet som vi i övrigt använder på våra jaktknivar. Med normal aktsamhet kommer dessa kockknivar att fungera hela livet. Levereras i en vacker presentask i solitt trä. Hur sköter jag då dessa knivar på bästa sätt? Till en början rekommenderar vi att de inte används i fruset kött eller till att skära i ben. Då riskerar du att få mer eller mindre stora eggskador, trots den höga kvalitén. Kyla gör stål sprött och det gäller även de exklusivaste av stål. Inte heller är en fin kockkniv något att hugga med, använd i stället en tandspetshärdad såg eller köttyxa. Till slut, placera aldrig en fin kockkniv i en diskmaskin, det förkortar livet avsevärt på kniven och tär hårt på eggen. Ta i stället för vana att handdiska kniven och torka av den på en torr handduk, det går till slut med automatik. Hur skärper jag CMT-knivarna? Vi rekommenderar gärna de diamantskärpstål som vi säljer. Vår erfarenhet säger att de snabbt och enkelt tar fram en riktigt bra egg. Diamantstålen kan vara lite grova till en början men blir bättre efter en tids inkörning. There isn’t a person working in the knife industry today that knows more about the Tanto than Cold Steel does.
